Van Persie: We are favourites

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie wants nothing less than the cup.

Robin van Persie has told Dutch newspaper Telegraaf that he thinks Holland are hot favourites for the European Championship next summer in Poland and Ukraine. “You can sure say that we are one of the four or five favourites for the title.” according to the 28-year-old. “I think everyone in Europe will agree on that”.

He was also asked about the chances of big countries such as France and Italy. “If you take a look at the period from the previous European Championships until now, I think Holland have grown the most. France and Italy have not shown such progress.”

Some questions were asked when Van Persie trained apart from the group in the first training session ahead of the game against Sweden. “There is nothing wrong” he insisted. “I choose to train apart from the group close after a match on more occasions.”
