Van Persie wants to end career in HollandRobin van Persie has told Dutch football magazine Hard Gras that he wants to finish his career where he started it, at Excelsior.

Van Persie has started his footballing career at Dutch second division side Excelsior before moving to Feyenoord. The striker joined Arsenal in 2004, after rumours linking him to PSV Eindhoven as well. But he has now expressed his desire to someday finish his career back in Rotterdam at Excelsior.

"Excelsior is in my heart" he is quoted in Hard Gras. "That is the kind of ending I have in mind. It would complete the circle for me. In Holland I would only want to play for Excelsior. Everything over there is about the love for the game, and that is the most important to me as well."

Van Persie played at Excelsior with Mounir El Hamdaoui and Saïd Boutahar, who were also part of the same interview. Saïd Boutahar currently plays for Dutch side Willem II and Mounir El Hamdaoui is playing for AZ Alkmaar, who were in the same group with Arsenal during the Champions League Group Stage. All have expressed their desire to someday return to their former club together.
