Wenger trusts in Fabianski

Wenger trusts in FabianskiArsene Wenger is completely confident that Fabianski will rise to the challenge tonight against FC Porto in the Champions Leage.

Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is sidelined with a finger injury. This leaves the possibility open for Fabianski to stake his claim.

Almunia has been injured before this season, but Fabianski also picked up a knee injury in that period. In that period young Italian goalkeeper Vito Mannone also proved to be in the race for the number 1 jersey in the future.

Fabianski had a bad day in his last Arsenal appearance against Stoke City in the FA Cup. However, Wenger has once again expressed his confidence in the Polish goalkeeper.

"I believe that Fabianski is top, top level and has massive potential," said Wenger.

"It is not easy for a keeper to come in and out."

"What he misses at the moment is the number of games but I have no doubt about his potential."

Arsenal are in another injury crisis as they face FC Porto tonight with five regular players missing from the match squad due to injuries. But Wenger is not going to use those injuries as an excuse.

"It's not a serious concern. The concern is that the players that are here perform at their best tomorrow. It's part of a season. We don't always have all the players available to select the team but I'm not bothered by that," he told reporters.
