Van Persie hoping to make late April

Van Persie hoping to make late AprilArsene Wenger thinks forward Robin van Persie could be back in late April, but only if his recovery stays on schedule.

Van Persie is out with an ankle injury since November following an internation friendly with Holland against Italy.

Arsenal have been severely missing strikeforce up front due to his injury, especially during the period Nicklas Bendtner was injured as well. But now Wenger has declared he has good hopes that Van Persie can wear the red and white before the end of the season.

"If you ask me is it the beginning of April, I would say categorically no because he has not started any real fitness work yet," Wenger is quoted on Arsenal.com.

"Once he starts that, it will take at least six weeks."

"Maybe [he will be back] at the end of April if all goes well. If there is no set-back, he should be back before the end of the season but it is very difficult to predict."
