Biography
Pablo Marí Villar is a Spanish central defender who joined Arsenal from Flamengo on loan in January 2020. He was added to the team to give the team some additional defensive quality, after performing very well with Flamengo prior to his move. He was first signed on loan, but on 24 June 2020 Arsenal announced they would trigger the clause in his loan contract that would allow The Gunners to sign him permanently. Even more special was the fact that this clause was triggered, while he got heavily injured just seven days before that announcement. He picked up an ankle playing against Manchester City, one of his former teams.
